Finally Owen is back to sleeping through the night...well at least he slept through the night the past two nights so I'm hoping it continues. I think it all had to do with his teeth coming in.He now has his two bottom teeth.
He is getting so big so fast! He crawls around the house really fast and he pulls himself up to thecouch and balances while only holding on by one hand. He's starting to walk alongside the couch while holding onto it. Now he keeps trying to lift his leg up to climb onto the couch. Daddy thinks he'll be walking by Christmas.
Owen just recently began pulling himself up to a standing position but he hasn't stood up in his crib yet...until today. This is how we found Owen after he woke up from his nap. Needless to say we had to lower his crib down as low as it can go.
A couple more pictures of our little bumble bee. We went to Grandma and Grandpa Manthei's house so they could see Owen in his first Halloween costume. The weather was so nice so we took some pictures in their front yard. I thought Owen would be fussy in his costume but I think he really liked it.
Can you tell it's hunting season?? Check out Kevin's beard.
About two weeks ago Owen's first tooth finally came through. He was having a hard time sleeping (which means mom and dad had a hard time sleeping).
The big news is that Owen started to crawl on Saturday. He's been getting on his hands and knees and rocking for a while now so we knew it was going to be soon. It will be interesting in the mornings now when we're getting ready for work. Thank goodness for exersausers!
I took Owen to see his doctor on Friday because he was starting to have symptoms of either teething or food allergies. Since he just recently got over a cold and an ear infection I didn't think he was sick again but the doctor said he has a little cold. I feel bad that he's not feeling well but I'm glad to hear that it's not food allergies. He's been such a good eater. Here are some pictures of Owen eating sweet potatoes. He really likes them! He started out with a bib on but it ended up getting too messy and he likes to lift the bib up and rub it into his face. Since he was getting a bath after this feeding I decided just to take the bib off and let him get messy. He also really likes taking a bite and then putting his fingers in his mouth at the same time. What a little stinker!
This weekend was the Coopersville Summerfest. Every year Kevin plays in the softball tournament on Friday and Saturday. We brought Owen into town on Saturday and walked around the festival. We ended up back at the ball field where we watched our friends play in the winning game. Owen slept through most of the game but woke up in time for me to snap a photo of him and his daddy.
We spent most of the day last Sunday outside since the weather was so nice. We went out and bought Owen a couple pools...a smaller one for this year and then a bigger one that we'll put up next year so we can enjoy it the whole summer. He loved it. We put him in his raft and he could touch the bottom with his feet and move himself around the pool.
He also loved it because he found himself a new teether!
Owen's hair is finally starting to grow. The hair on the top of his head is much longer than the sides so it's fun to style his hair into a mohawk. It's hard to see in the picture below but it's really cute!
On July 13th we all hung out at a cottage that my parents stayed at for the week on Hess Lake. The weather was perfect and the water was warm. We enjoyed a nice boat ride and a great dinner!
We had a family reunion up north in the beginning of July. The theme for the reunion this year was the Olympics so we all had matching t-shirts. Owen even had his very own matching onesie.
Owen wearing the hat that Aunt Jayme made for him.
Today we visited Grandma and Grandpa Manthei at their boat (Owen's first time). We dressed Owen up in his little outfit and put shoes on him (for the first time). He loves to stand and the shoes help him balance.
Grandpa's already puting fishing poles in Owen hands. I can't wait to see him fishing with his Grandpa soon!
Owen hung out with his friends this weekend...Landon and Cooper. They were so cute together! Owen and Landon are 5 months old and Cooper is 4 months old. We took lots of pictures of the boys and they kept making us laugh. After this picture they all sat in their bouncy seats and watched T.V. together. We can't wait to hang out with them again!(L-R: Landon, Cooper, Owen)
Owen just turned 5 months old! (3 months considering he's a preemie). How the time flies. He's starting to enjoy being on his belly now that he can lift his head :) He loves rolling from his tummy to back more so I have to hold him up.
He also LOVES to look at all the colors in his book!
Owen seems to get another nickname everyday. Owie (short for Owen), P.J. (Precious Jr. his daddy is Precious Sr.) K. J. (Kevin Jr. because he looks so much like his daddy), Brutis (Papa Jim calls him that because he's becoming such a big boy), Spike (he lost a lot of his hair and now that it's growing back he has this cute spike going on).
Owen loves to sit in his bouncy seat and stare at his arm. I catch him doing this all the time. It's so cute.
